We have visited Mallorca twice within a year. Each time exploring the island through coffee, food and places — some that felt like little discoveries outside the typical tourist attractions.

Every place that made the list are here because I loved them — 25 places that I would happily send a close friend, which is why I know that you will enjoy them too.

Inside, you’ll find:

  • 🛏️ Where to Stay — A beautiful hotel we still daydream about — actually the main reason we came back the second time to Mallorca within the same year!

  • ☕️ Coffee shops — finding the best speciality coffee with silky flat whites

  • 🥐 Bakeries — with crusty sourdough bread, cardamom swirls and coffee

  • 🍽️ Restaurants — Some favorite restaurants we kept coming back to

  • 🏖️ Beaches & Activities — worth the early morning drive before the crowds

  • 🛍️ Markets & Shops — with traditional Mallorcan craftsmanship

  • 🗺️ Linked Locations — so you can easily save them to Google Maps for your trip!

  • Bonus info — Favorite time of year to travel to the island for perfect temperature, avoiding the crowds but still seasonal open restaurants and shops.

I have travelled many places through the years… Top of the list being Brasil, USA, South Africa, Greece, Norway, Denmark (where I’m from), South UK, Australia, Bali, the Canary Islands (where we live) and next up — a long time life dream of ours — Japan in September (!!) All places with surf, hiking, nature experiences, food, coffe and bakeries as a main focus behind each journey.

🛏️ Where to Stay

1. Barefoot Hotel, Portocolom
Barefoot Hotel in Portocolom was the main reason we returned to Mallorca a second time, since this 5-star retreat hotel stands out in every way with their boho-chic design, friendly staff and serene coastal views of Portocolom.
Although it’s listed as an adults-only hotel, they kindly welcomed our children both times upon request, and they even upgraded us to a beautiful corner room with a private jacuzzi on our balcony.
Their breakfast buffet is amazing with barista made coffee and different types of eggs, omelets or pancakes made on request, that can be enjoyed both inside or outside around the pool. With all the travel experience behind us, Barefoot Hotel is truly the best hotel we have ever stayed at in every way, with their great breakfast, tranquil environment and beautiful rooms, free entry to their spa facilities and sauna every afternoon, or join their rooftop yoga classes in the morning.
If you book early in advance or towards end of the season — they even have great early bird prices and offers.

2. NENI Mallorca, Port de Sóller
With a Great view over the harbour, this adult only hotel is great for a stay or as we did, just visiting for lunch, dinner or a little lounge by the pool for drinks — while my parents were taking care of the kids on the nearby beach ;)
